On behalf of the Empowering a Billion Women 2020 Network (EBW2020) steering committee, leaders, advisors, chapter leaders and global community- we are thrilled to be announcing the EBW100 Global 100 list on International Women’s Day with individual winner highlights throughout the month of March 2020.

In this very important year of EBW’s history, this list celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. Throughout history, extraordinary women have fought tirelessly. Through protest and activism, generations of women have appealed to the values at the heart of each of their countries and fought to give meaning to the idea that we are all created equal. As today’s women and girls reach for new heights, they stand on the shoulders of all those who have come before and carry forward their legacy of proud achievement. Today, we celebrate countless pioneering women and the victories they won! With grit and resolve they have fought to overcome discrimination and shattered glass ceilings and after decades of determined progress they have widened the circle of opportunity for women and girls across the globe. Along with the women, we also celebrate the men who have advocated for women globally towards bringing “gender harmony” and meaningful social and economic impact for all. In the process of doing so, these women and men have inspired generations of women to come and empowered the world as role models for how to “make the impossible, possible!”.

The EBW100: Global 2020 List is the next in a series of events and initiatives EBW is hosting worldwide throughout the year to celebrate the 2020 goals. The release of the list follows the 2020 kick off event where EBW2020 sponsored The EBW Foundation: Billionaire Week for Women- “She who has the potential to impact a billion lives”. In this global leadership and influencer event, the BWW is focused on elevating more women into the board rooms, investment circles and innovation conversations (for more please go to www.ebwfoundation.org).
